Winners of the 2014 STEMNET Awards

Kent and Medway nominees headed to London on November 11th 2014 to attend the 2014 STEMNET awards. Don Clark (far left) represented Pfizer who were nominated for the STEM Employer award. This award recognises those STEM sector employers, that have supported their employees to become a STEM Ambassadors and then to actively engage with their local schools. Furthermore Wilmington Grammar School for Boys teacher Jan Smith (center) was nominated for the Joan Sjøvoll Inspirational STEM Leadership Award. This award recognises the dedication of a school leader who has driven forward the STEM agenda in their school and local community:

The awards aim to recognise the UK’s most dedicated and inspirational people for motivating young people in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. Winners in six award categories were announced at the annual STEMNET Awards Ceremony, at the House of Lords, hosted by Lord Sainsbury of Turville. Each winner in each Award category won an amazing trip to CERN offered by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).
