Celebrate National Careers Week and join Dr Rebecca, a post-doctoral virologist at Pirbright Industry, for an exciting live talk on animal health and disease research.

Dr Rebecca will talk about her journey into animal science and how her love of animals led her beyond veterinary medicine into a wide range of careers in the animal health sector. She will share how studying Animal Science helped her discover an interest in microbiology and virology.

Our audience will also learn how viruses like flu can change, spread between animals and people, and why vaccines need to be regularly updated, offering a fascinating insight into real-world science and research careers.

This live talk, aimed at secondary aged students (most suitable for KS3-5), will be informative and engaging, and there will be the opportunity to ask questions afterwards.

*This virtual secondary school assembly talk will take place using MS Teams Live. The platform has safeguarding built-in to make it a safe online environment, especially for young people, including no webcams or microphones and a live Q&A function which is fully moderated.
