Ready for an out-of-this-world ocean adventure?

Did you know that our oceans are a vital part of Earth’s life-support system – and that whales play an important role in keeping them healthy?

Join us for a brand-new, FREE and interactive virtual show where primary pupils become space scientists and ocean detectives!

Working alongside STEM Ambassadors, pupils will:

  • Discover how satellites help us observe and understand our amazing planet.
  • Learn fascinating facts about magnificent humpback whales and the important role they play in our oceans.
  • Design and build their very own Earth Observation satellite before using it to explore the oceans from space.
  • Take on a mission to track whales and uncover how space technology can help us protect our planet.
  • Discover why teamwork – both on Earth and in space – is essential for tackling some of the challenges facing our planet.
  • There will also be an opportunity for pupils to ask questions directly to our STEM experts at the end of the show.

And the mission doesn't stop there! Schools will be able to continue their Space Whales adventure with follow-up activities, including our exciting Design-a-Satellite Poster Competition.

Suitable for children aged 5-11 years old.

A note for educators

To help us evaluate the impact of the show and demonstrate its value to our funders, ESERO-UK, we kindly ask participating schools to complete short pre- and post-show pupil questionnaires, along with a questionnaire for the educator/home educator.

Your support with this evaluation is extremely important and helps us understand how the experience has inspired and engaged young people in STEM.

*Microsoft Teams Live is a platform with safeguarding built in, including no enabled webcams or microphones and moderated chat function.
