Lesson Hooks for KS3 Science

Lesson hooks are short, engaging activities—often used as starters—designed to capture attention and spark curiosity. Effective hooks create a real sense of wow, helping pupils connect abstract concepts to real-world phenomena through dramatic demonstrations, intriguing mysteries or thought-provoking images.

On this course you will be taken through the KS3 science curriculum, identifying resources that will grab your students’ attention and encourage them to ask questions about your topic. You will take away a bank of resources but also strategies for designing your own hooks.

Come along prepared to try some engaging practical activities and to raise challenging questions from stimulating video clips and images.
