The Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining are running their annual Starpack for Schools Competition for ages 9 to 17 years.
“The competition has been designed to link to and support the school curriculum, especially Design & Technology, and encourage young people to consider the important role played by packaging in protecting the products we take for granted.
The three briefs for secondary schools have separate categories for years 7 & 8, 9 & 10 and year 12 and the submission requirements vary for each category to differentiate between the learning level of the students.
A new brief for primary schools has been included to introduce a younger audience to the importance of sustainability in packaging. This can be run as a one-day event, over a number of lessons, or as an extracurricular STEM club activity.”
