STEM Female Role Models Posters

A new poster collection aims to bring women's stories to light — and inspire girls with the knowledge that she can be whatever she aspires to be! The free downloadable posters, created by Nevertheless, a podcast which celebrates women transforming teaching and learning through technology. The posters feature eight trailblazing women who have made an impact in STEM fields. Each poster is also uniquely designed by a different female artist from around the world.

Science+ Nature Magazine - free activities!

Whether in the classroom or at home, these fun, easy-to-do projects encourage students to explore the world around them. From recycling paper, reducing and reusing plastic waste to growing the mycelium of fungus, the activities show that science is in everything - providing a wide variety of cross-curricular links. Science in a Box

PLAN - Supporting Assessment

PLAN is a set of resources produced by The Association for Science Education (ASE) to enable teachers to have a clearer understanding of the National Curriculum in England’s expectations for meeting the standard in science. Annotated collections of children’s work provide examples of what working at the expected standard for primary science might look like for the knowledge and conceptual understanding statements of the programmes of study. Support For Developing Countries – Great Choice AQA!

Practical Action are delighted that the examination board AQA have included ‘support to developing countries’ as one of their recently released contextual challenges offered to GCSE D&T students. As an international development organisation with a focus on technology to address poverty, they are delighted that students have been given this great opportunity to complete an in depth project on such an important issue. Practical Action's website is full of inspirational stories of how peoples’ lives have been transformed through access to technology in areas such as Renewable energy, Water and sanitation and Food and agriculture. For those of you that like to find out more of the technical details behind the projects, there is a wide range of technical briefs and publications that provide technical information to support the international project work.
