March 2025 has been an exciting month for The STEM Hub, featuring National Careers Week (3rd-8th March), Mars Day (4th March), Mars Week (4th-9th March), and British Science Week (7th-16th March). These events featured a dynamic lineup of live talks and shows delivered by passionate STEM Ambassadors from across the South East, inspiring primary and secondary students.

A series of live talks for National Careers Week offered secondary students valuable insights into careers in gaming, geoscience, and conservation, providing expert guidance for those interested in STEM fields.

During Mars Week, primary students enjoyed a fun, hands-on interactive show, where they helped a futuristic city reduce carbon emissions aided by satellites in space. Meanwhile, thousands of students joined an exhilarating "To the Moon and Mars" online adventure, immersing themselves in the wonders of space exploration!

To wrap up British Science Week, STEM Ambassadors delivered engaging talks for primary and secondary students. Topics ranged from "The Science Behind the World’s First Hydrogen Boat" to a radiation scientist’s journey, where childhood curiosity led to a fascinating career in medical physics and radiation science. The final talk, "Exploring the Endless Possibilities of STEM Careers," encouraged students to see the limitless potential in STEM!

The events saw colossal engagement, with around 86,200 students participating in live talks and shows over just two weeks, underscoring the booming interest in STEM careers.

Hosted on Microsoft Teams Live, the sessions featured interactive Q&A segments, giving students direct access to industry experts. They gained real-world insights into various careers, entry requirements, and relevant work experiences.

The STEM Hub remains committed to facilitating opportunities for students to explore and pursue careers in STEM fields, fostering innovation, creativity, and talent development within the community.

And the learning continues with ‘On Demand’ content available on our website for those who missed the live talks and shows.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our speakers and participants for their valuable contributions to the success of these fantastic STEM events.
