The STEM Hub, as the ESERO (European Space Education Resource Office) National Partner and South East Regional Partner marked World Space Week 2025 with an inspiring line-up of live virtual talks and interactive shows celebrating the theme ‘Living in Space’. Delivered by STEM Ambassadors and professionals from the space, aerospace, and aviation industries. The talks collectively reached a massive audience of around 63,000 primary and secondary students in exciting hands-on learning and real-world science, sparking imaginations and ambitions for future STEM careers.

Across the week, pupils were treated to a range of exciting sessions that brought this year’s theme to life. Team Tim, featuring ESERO-UK Space Champion and Spacefund founder Jo Fox and British astronaut Tim Peake, they combined science, drama, and visual effects to guide students through astronaut training and mission preparation aboard the International Space Station, inspiring curiosity about human space exploration.

Other talks highlighted real-world STEM careers and achievements. The ‘Flying High: Passion, Persistence, and STEM Careers’ talk featured STEM Ambassador Steph, a commercial airline pilot sharing her journey from cabin crew to the flight deck. The talk showed how persistence, passion, and creative problem-solving can open doors into aviation and STEM careers, while encouraging young learners to explore diverse pathways in these fields.

In addition, STEM Ambassador Caroline from Stellar Solutions Aerospace Ltd led her ‘Walking Amongst Giants’ workshop, educating young learners about science across space and time, from dinosaurs to modern space exploration, through a journey connecting palaeontology, archaeology, robotics, and aerospace.

The week concluded with a ‘Moon Landing Coding Adventure’ delivered by Professor Trice from Get with the Program, an initiative that brings coding adventures into schools. Primary children developed practical coding skills to create algorithms that sent a robot to the Moon, in an interactive session that blended creativity, computing, and problem-solving in a highly engaging format.

Overall, World Space Week 2025 successfully inspired thousands of pupils, sparking curiosity, excitement, and ambition in STEM and space exploration. The talks demonstrated that with curiosity, determination, and creativity, the sky is no longer the limit for the next generation of innovators and explorers.
