The STEM Hub was delighted to collaborate with spacefund.co.uk to bring you Spaceship Earth, enabling thousands of children to set off into space!

The engaging show was presented by Jo Fox, Space Champion and STEM Ambassador where over 1000 Primary schools took part with over 45,000 pupils from the whole country and across the world!

This immersive, interactive, online show catapulted Primary School children into a space-themed STEM adventure, blending the thrill of space exploration with the crucial role the UK Space Industry has in research and innovation of developing satellites to enable scientists to learn more about Earth and space. The show wasn’t just about watching—it was about doing! Interactive elements encouraged curiosity and enabled the children to have a chance to contribute to the journey, sparking a passion for science and exploration.

Jo Fox, Space Champion and STEM Ambassador delivering the show noted: “Spaceship Earth brings the UK’s growing space industry to life, showing its impact on our everyday lives in a fun, interactive, and informative way. Thanks to our partnership with James from The STEM Hub, this show has been a huge success, reaching thousands of children across the country...and beyond!”.

Overall Spaceship Earth was not merely a show; it was a gateway to inspire a new generation of space and climate enthusiasts, showcasing the intersection of science, technology, and climate action, while supporting teachers in the classroom to bring alive the amazing opportunities learning about space can bring.

Teachers highlighted the impact of Spaceship Earth to the children:

  • “Our science topic at the moment is space, so the lesson was extremely relevant to us. It helped to extend and support the pupils' knowledge and understanding in a fun and engaging way. The pupils also learned about space debris which we haven't covered yet. The class connected with the dog character and were fully engaged in his adventure to space.” - Teacher, Townhill Primary School
  • "The Spaceship Earth show was an incredibly engaging and inspiring experience for our students. It brought the wonders of space exploration to life, sparking their curiosity and deepening their understanding of STEM concepts. The interactive elements and real-world connections made the learning journey truly memorable." - Teacher, Glanhowy Primary School.
  • “The Spaceship Earth Primary Show provided a fantastic opportunity to boost a love of learning. The children had been learning about Earth and Space in their Science lessons, and it was wonderful to give their learning even more purpose. They particularly enjoyed having the option to vote for different choices on their devices, which made them feel like integral parts of the mission. Seeing the smiles on their faces- especially during the countdown- was a highlight and showed just how engaged and excited they were. In addition, our learners found the live Q and A session insightful, and it has supported our whole-school focus on 'aspiration.' Thank you” - Teacher and Head of School, Gedney Church End Primary School.
