Lower Thames Crossing Minecraft Webinar

Lower Thames Crossing Minecraft Webinar

 19 Nov 2021 | views: 424 | Resources

The Lower Thames crossing has been recreated into two new Minecraft games, a ‘Tunnel Digging Game’ and a ‘Speed Safety Game’ for KS2 and KS3 students. Students will be able to explore a range of STEM jobs and skills used to build a large infrastructure project.

KS2 students will have the chance to excavate and build a portion of the new Lower Thames Crossing Tunnel using a Minecraft model, while KS3 students will build the tunnel using MakeCode, understanding how people and technology make complex structures. Secondly KS2 students will be the controller behind keeping the Lower Thames Crossing safe, using MakeCode to control signs responding to scenarios such as adverse weather, and wandering animals. KS3 students will also respond to flooding and animals on the road, in addition to having the chance to respond to the signs as if they were in a car.

The webinar with the Lower Thames Crossing skills and educational team will introduce and explain more about these educational resources, including what they have to offer young people and how exactly they can be used in the classroom or at home. The live webinar will also allow you to ask questions for further clarity.

The FREE resources will be available to download as a Minecraft educational edition, more details will be provided during the webinar.
