In May this year, our Summer of Space campaign launched with a series of space related virtual careers talks aimed at primary and secondary students. The talks were delivered by STEM Ambassadors working within space industries and covered topics such as space sustainability and why we should care about the environment, the engineering required for making small satellites and what types of engineers, scientists and technicians are needed to make them.
Space is to be enjoyed by all and although we are able to see the moon, the sun and stars with the naked eye, there is much more yet to be discovered. Space topics often spark students' curiosity and imagination and encourage them to become increasingly involved in STEM.
To continue our celebration of space we have created a range of interactive resources accessible to students throughout the summer and school holidays so they can continue to learn about space and the diverse range of roles and careers available within the space industry.

There is Space for Everyone: The Tour is taking place around the UK this summer.
The UK Space Agency’s Space For Everyone Tour is taking off this summer, giving you the chance to learn about the important role of space in our everyday lives as well as the exciting space-related job opportunities for people just like you! You will have the chance to take part in a range of hands-on activities to inspire your curiosity and learn about the different jobs people have in the space industry – from engineers to coders to space doctors, artists, and everything in between!

Interested in satellites and the unique opportunity of a real-life experience to work on a space project? The CanSat competition provides students aged 14+ with the opportunity to have practical experience working on a small-scale space project. Students are tasked with designing and building their own simulation of a real satellite, integrated within the volume and shape of a soft drink can!
