You will Need:
- Plastic bottle caps
- Lollipop sticks
- Glue
- Pipe cleaners, or something that you can insert under the bottle caps,
- Cardboard box (optional)
What to Do:
- Glue lollipop sticks evenly spaced, around the outside of each bottle cap.
- Create a handle for each gear, get creative with what you have around the house!
- Place your gears on a flat surface ensuring that they are spaced in a way that allows the lollipop sticks to interlock.
- Glue down your pipe cleaners, or something to place each gear on.
- Set up your gears and get moving!
How does it work?
By turning one gear, you are creating kinetic energy – energy that causes movement. The type of energy you are using to move all of the gears in mechanical energy, putting objects in motion. Well done!
