Space Trackers: Our Network Beyond Earth
PrimarySecondary | Space | Views: 101
In this interactive code-a-long, students will hear from STEM Ambassadors working in communications careers as they explore the technology behind satellite networks and discover what it takes to keep information moving across the Earth and space.
Then it’s their turn to get hands-on.
Using Micro:bit, students will code their own mini satellite network, sending messages between devices and experimenting with how information can travel from one point to another. Along the way, they’ll put their problem-solving skills to the test, troubleshoot their code and see their network come to life. All they will need is more than one Micro:bit and a laptop or tablet to code on.
It’s a practical introduction to coding and satellite communications, with plenty of opportunities to experiment, and discover how the technology that keeps us connected works.
