Superhero Cape

You will Need:

• Materials to make the cape with – paper/foil/cotton/fleece
• A superhero! You could be the superhero, or choose a toy if
• you prefer.

What to Do:

1. Make some superhero capes using different materials. To make your test fair, you might want to make a few capes of the same size – some larger and some smaller.
2. Run superhero, run! Run with your superhero cape on and record how high it flies. Maybe take a photo or video, or have someone watch you to tell you which flies highest.
3. Decide – what are the properties of an effective superhero cape? Does it need to be strong? Light? Flies well?
4. Perhaps you would like to decorate your superhero cape? Will the decorations affect the cape’s performance? Which decorations work best?
