Sunita Williams is an astronaut and has worked on the International Space Station (ISS). Sunita gives us an insight into daily live on board the ISS, from sleeping arrangements, to washing and eating.

  • Imagine sleeping in the ISS – how do you think it feels? What are the effects of no gravity?
  • Sunita mentions surface tension in the water that produces bubbles – can you learn how surface tension works?
  • How do you think astronaut’s bodies and health are affected by ten months, like Sunita, on the ISS?
  • What about diet – how are these foods prepared? How do they keep them from rotting?
  • Imagine life in the ISS, write a diary entry, create a daily routine timetable, write a letter, make a menu…plan life in space!
