If you are considering hosting a Big Bang at your school, you can check if you are eligible to apply for a bursary at https://www.stemfundingforschools.org.uk/. Aimed at young people aged 11-14 years, the bursary is for recognising that your school has a high proportion of young people from groups who are under-represented in engineering. The programme is run by EngineeringUK, providing an opportunity for you to apply for a bursary to enable your school to make the Big Bang at School a rewarding and enjoyable experience for students.
If a bursary is not available to you, you can still get involved and apply for a Big Bang at School Blueprint which provides you with the resources, tools and guidance you need to bring the Big Bang to life in your school. You can inspire and inform your students about all things STEM – all for free!
Places are limited, so don't miss out and apply today at: https://www.thebigbang.org.uk/big-bang-at-school/big-bang-at-school-blueprint-application/
Schools can also get involved in The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers competition, which is free to enter, and is open to young people in the UK aged 11 to 18 in state-funded secondary education, who are home educated or who enter as part of a community group. Competitors can only enter one project, either on their own or as part of a team. The competition will close for entries on 27 March 2024.
