Multiplying by 5

• Take an even number to multiply by 5.
• Halve this number, divide it by 2.
• Now, multiply your answer by 10.
• There’s your answer, try it out!

Multiplying by 6

• Again, take an even number to multiply by 6.
• Divide the number by 2 and take the first digit of the answer.
• Use your original number and place it AFTER your first answer.
• Did it work?

Multiplying by 9

• Choose your number and subtract 1 from it. This is the first digit of your answer.
• Use your chosen number again and subtract it from 10. This is the second digit of your answer.
• Remember to begin with a single digit…did it work?

Multiplying by 11

• This time, begin with a double-digit number.
• Add the two digits of your chosen number together.
• Place this number BETWEEN the two digits of your number.
• Have you got the right answer?
