Watch the video clip in the link below from the BBC series Walking With Dinosaurs. It features three dinosaur species – a stegosaurus, allosaurus and young sauropods.

Research these different species and characterise them by traits (what they look like and how they behave).

Answer the following questions:

• Dinosaurs, like many animals, had features for both attack and defence. Which can you see in these species?
• Focus on the habitat – how does that add/prevent attack and defence of prey?
• The allosaurus is seen as the top predator. Why might this be? Which other species are top of the food chain?
