  • Highways is a branch of Civil Engineering. It includes design, maintenance and construction of roads, bridges, and tunnels. This can include sign design and repair, new road design, safety barrier design, existing road widening...just to name a few!

  Apprenticeship

  • Working with a company on projects etc whilst completing your education on day release, you can do this from different points in your education.
  • Straight after GCSE’s where you can complete a BTEC through the company (then go on to do a HNC and Degree)
  • After A levels (Degree Apprenticeship) Normally you would do a HNC then a degree.

  University

  • Complete a Foundation course then go onto a degree or go straight into a degree depending on entry levels and requirements of different universities.

  University

  • Foundation degree: 3 A Levels, or equivalent, including a Science
  • Degree: 3 A Levels, or equivalent, including Maths and a Science

  College

  • 1 A level, or equivalent level 3 qualification.
  • You may also need GCSE passes at grade 4 (or C) or above in Maths and Science.

  Degree Apprenticeship

  • 4 or 5 GCSEs including Maths and English to grade 4 ,or equivalent, and A Levels.
