 October 20 2017 | Kent & Medway | Views: 1691

Dungeness B Visitors Centre were delighted to welcome 38 people on a special STEM event for Home-Educated pupils organised by STEM Ambassador Hub South East England – an Exploring Electricity plant tour – safety hats, ear defenders, safety glasses, high viz jackets and a trained Station tour guide – what is there not to love? 1.5 hours later after a safety & security briefing pre tour, our visitors returned hungry for knowledge as well as their lunch.

After lunch they became creative in production of turbines which reinforced the knowledge they had gained during the tour.

EDF Energy opened its award winning visitor centre at Dungeness B power station in February 2013. The centre gives the opportunity for members of the public to enjoy the interactive exhibition zone and embark on a site tour to see the plant in operation — all these services are offered free of charge.

The centre has been designed to capture the imagination of children and adults alike, everyone is very welcome to attend any time during the day (no pre-booking required). The opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.

We also offer guided tours of the power station. These must be pre-booked by contacting the visitor centre by calling: 01797 343728 or emailing: dungenessBtours@edf-energy.com
