An out-of-this-world ocean adventure for KS1โ€“2 pupils

Get ready to explore the oceans from space with Space Whales: Mission Ocean! โ€” a FREE, live and interactive virtual show designed for children in KS1โ€“2.

This exciting session brings together space, science, technology and ocean conservation, giving pupils the chance to become space scientists and ocean detectives as they discover how satellites help us understand and protect our planet.

Working alongside STEM Ambassadors, pupils will:

  • ๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ Discover how satellites are used to observe and monitor Earth.
  • ๐Ÿ‹ Learn fascinating facts about humpback whales and why whales are important to healthy oceans.
  • ๐ŸŒ Explore how technology can help us understand and protect our planet.
  • ๐Ÿš€ Design their own Earth Observation satellite.
  • ๐Ÿงฉ Take part in interactive challenges linked to science, teamwork and sustainability.

The mission continues!

Schools and educators taking part will also receive FREE follow-up activities to extend learning beyond the live session, including an exciting Design-a-Satellite Poster Competition.

Itโ€™s a great opportunity to bring space and ocean science into the classroom or home-learning environment while encouraging children to think creatively about how science and technology can help solve real-world challenges.
