To celebrate Green Careers Week (4–10 November), The STEM Hub hosted a dynamic lineup of live talks and shows, led by STEM Ambassadors from diverse fields including technology, environmental science, engineering and conservation. These sessions attracted a combined audience of over thirteen thousand primary and secondary school students, sparking curiosity and encouraging them to consider careers with a focus on sustainability.
Green careers represent one of the fastest-growing employment sectors worldwide. Now in its third year, Green Careers Week provided an ideal platform to engage with young minds, educating them on meaningful career paths that can drive positive change. The week’s events were designed to introduce students to various green career options, showing them how they could one day contribute to a more sustainable world.
STEM Ambassadors delivered engaging presentations on topics such as "What is Air Pollution?", "Secrets of the Ocean", "Green Energy", and "Factory of the Future." These talks offered students a glimpse into the impactful work being done in these fields and demonstrated the importance of STEM in solving global challenges.
A primary teacher commented on the ‘Factory of the Future’ talk: “My class really enjoyed the live show. We are a small SEND school, and the children absolutely loved the experience of the live lesson and the interactive elements!”
This successful week would not have been possible without the dedication of our inspiring STEM Ambassadors, whose enthusiasm and commitment help open up a world of opportunities for young people. By sharing their experiences, they encourage students to explore STEM subjects and consider future careers that support a sustainable world.
